Nicknamed "El Nino," Sergio Garcia was born on January 9th, 1980 in Spain. Sergio plays professionally on both the PGA and European Tours. Even though he has spent a large part of his career ranked in the Top 10 of the world's golfers he has never won a major championship.
He came brutally close at the 2007 Open Championships before losing in a playoff. He has not won a tournament in over two years.
He turned pro in 1999 after shooting the lowest score among amateurs at the 1999 Masters. His original claim to fame came in a second place finish to Tiger Woods during the PGA Championships in that same year.
Sergio is well-known for his excruciatingly slow approach to hitting a golf ball that has been known to drive viewers watching on TV to change the channel.
